Regional Director, Hardware Operations - Asia

This position is based in Taipei, Taiwan.

The role: Regional Director, Hardware Operations

You will be strong leader with a strong technical background. Google has one of the most advanced and innovative operations environments on the planet. The Operations team manages a broad range of technical areas including servers, data center infrastructure, networking, system administration, and logistics. You will be leading multiple technical teams responsible for ambitious deployments and unparalleled availability within Google's unique culture.

Responsibilities:

• Deployment and operations of the hardware for Google’s computing cloud at all Asia locations.
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deploy platforms.
• Lead and direct various process and structure innovations to help create and maintain the best operations team in the world.
• Coordinate with other regional directors to maintain a homogeneous, globally consistent operations organization.
• Hiring and management of senior managers at multiple locations.

Requirements:

• BS preferred in an Applied Science field; MS/PhD a plus.
• At least 5 years of relevant hands-on technical experience in your specialty.
• At least 10 years of technical management experience preferably in a datacenter-related role.
• Expertise in leading projects, especially within a mission critical facility.
• May require relocation in the future based on further expansion of sites.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Must be able to speak one from the following; Mandarin, Cantonese, Malay.
