A new day is upon us and we couldn’t be more grateful. This week for Decider’s Woman Crush Wednesday we want to give it up for an actress who’s had a spot in our hearts for quite a while now. Let’s hear some praise for the always amazing, Ellen Page.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Ellen Page

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Ellen Page’s latest project just hit our computer screens last week. The Netflix original The Umbrella Academy revolves around a family of superheroes who come together to solve the mystery of their father’s death. In the show, Page stars as Vanya, the seventh adopted child in the cast of powerful kiddos. Only, her character doesn’t seem to have any powers at all. In the first episode, we find out that Vanya wrote an autobiography entitled Extra Ordinary, and actually tells her the life story of an average girl growing up next to superhero siblings.

I think we can all totally agree that Page is anything but average! She is a total hot shot, just ask that Oscar nom she got. Since her claim to fame in the early 2000s, she’s always been vocal about her stances on human and animal rights, including her recent response to homophobia in Hollywood. And if that’s not enough to prove how truly amazing she is, homegirl even took violin lessons to prepare for her role in The Umbrella Academy. Now that’s dedication. There is nothing about this woman that’s only average.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: There’s no doubt you’ve seen Page in at least one feature flick before. She’s a pretty big deal. Some of her most recognizable roles are Juno McGraff in Juno, Ariadne in Inception, and Kitty Pride in the X-Men movies. Page has also played roles in movies like Whip It, Tallulah, and Hard Candy. And of course, Page currently plays the role of Vanya Hargreeves, aka The White Violin, in The Umbrella Academy.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: If you’re loving Page in The Umbrella Academy just sit tight because she’s got more coming your way. A new Netflix miniseries called Tales of the City will be hitting the site sometime this year, so keep an eye out. Page will also make appearances in Robodog and Naya Legend of the Golden Dolphin, which are both in production as we speak.
