The Sexual and Relationship Violence Center is pleased to announce the addition of Suzanne Krumpelman to its staff. Effective immediately, Krumpelman will serve as the SRVC counselor.

Krumpelman, a licensed associate counselor, brings over 12 years of experience and certification as a clinical trauma professional to the center. This allows her to assess, diagnose and treat PTSD, along with other trauma-related symptoms. She will incorporate sand tray therapy and somatic experiencing techniques within counseling services offered through the center.

"We are thrilled for Ms. Krumpelman to join the SRVC staff as a counselor," said Dr. Wyandt-Hiebert, director. "Her experience and training in trauma are important additions to the service the SRVC provides for students. This is a great step toward expanding victim services available on campus."

The SRVC strives to assist victims/survivors during a difficult time through confidential advocacy services, identifying additional resources and direct referrals as needed. The addition of counseling services at the SRVC greatly expands the existing victim/survivor services.

"I am excited to be working at the SRVC and be a part of the wonderful U of A community," Krumpelman said. "I'm honored to be part of such a needed outreach that daily brings healing and hope while changing lives."

Counseling services through the SRVC are for current U of A students in need of short-term counseling resulting from sexual and/or relationship violence. The service is offered at no cost and conveniently located on campus.

In addition, the SRVC offers individual victim advocacy and a peer-based support group for current students. All services are confidential and at no cost to the student. Interested students should contact the SRVC at 479-575-4000 or email survivor@uark.edu to inquire about any SRVC victim/survivor services.
