    I have purchased 6 of these. 5 are running linux and NUT to provide feedback on the condition of UPS devices protecting my systems. (the 6th one I accidentally killed by using a 20v adapter, oops!!). If you are looking for something to run headless (i.e. no display) this is a great device for it. I especially like running Armbian on these.

    Bought this because the device I wanted is very difficult to get. These are readily available, and reasonably priced. They perform very well on the network, and share files quick enough via USB3. I've also run node red on it with the orange pi gpio nodes. I was going to buy another, but the other device became available at normal prices. These devices do not have the community support of the more popular SBC's. It runs kind of warm. Currently 61.67°C running open media vault, using the supplied case and heatsink. It doesn't seem to mind, and runs just fine.

    Overall the Neo3 has been great for my purposes so far. I loaded it with the DietPi OS and piHole. So far my only issue is that it runs HOT. The idle temp is almost 60c. A little research showed that this is common for this device. I didn't like the temp so I made some modifications. 1st I took the heatsink off and removed the thermal pad the manufacturer had on the CPU, and replaced it with some thermal paste. From what I see early models had a flat bottom on the heatsink and made contact with other components of you did that, the heatsink appears to have been updated and can now be mounted touching the CPU directly without issue.
    2nd I added a fan from a RaspberryPi kit.

    Between the two modifications the temp is now staying at about 35c. Which is a huge improvement.

    The NanoPi NEO3 has far more power than a Pi-hole needs but the form factor is absolutely perfect for that use. Network and power connections are on the same side of the case making wiring neat. Heat is not an issue since Pi-hole is not power-hungry. Flat sides of the sturdy case make mounting it anywhere with double-sided tape or velcro a breeze. USB 3.0 port, gig ethernet and modern USB-C power are gravy.

    Dietpi als Betriebssystem, squeezelite als player und dann das Ganze über einen USB-Dac mit 705.600 Hz Resampling (/etc/asound.conf) abspielen. Dem squeezelite einen Kern zuordnen und für andere Dienste diesen blockieren und dem Realtime Kernel höchste Priorität zuweisen. Das ganze läuft ohne jegliche Grafik! Besser und puristischer geht es wohl kaum.
