Olivia Wilde Is Crazy for Color When It Comes to Design

Beige carpets and white walls? Not in Olivia Wilde's house. In her home, the actress prefers to incorporate an array of bright colors and mixed patterns, giving the space—which she shares with her fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, their son, Otis, daughter, Daisy, and adopted dogs Paco and Elvis—a highly styled and kid-friendly vibe. She frequently takes to Instagram to discreetly show off her taste. Wilde recently shared a snap of her two pups on a royal blue couch cozying into a patterned orange, peach, pink, yellow and blue pillow and a textured rainbow blanket. A different blue-and-orange pillow sits nearby, while a bright green patterned carpet peeks out below. Talk about a color combination!

Another photo of the family's canine duo uses an intricately patterned rug as the main backdrop, with shades of pink, blue, and gold over a white base. A solid bright green chair adds dimension to the design. Even Wilde's walls show off her love of color: An old-fashioned yellow rotary phone pops against a bold red wall in the kitchen. A blue wall pulls together a playroom-looking area, where Otis reads a Star Wars book among a plethora of toys.

The Broadway star even managed to add life to her otherwise plain gray sofa by accenting it with a large red throw pillow and multicolored blanket. Wilde also includes color in the living room, which is dominated by dark brown built-ins and terra cotta–hued floor tiles, by adding a blue-backed chair topped with a pink- red- and white-striped pillow. The unexpected color scheme is topped off with richly toned artwork hanging on the wall visible in the next room over.

Besides bright, bold colors, Wilde isn't afraid to embrace patterns, either. Behind a wooden sideboard displaying a turntable, she selected a leafy wallpaper with green, purple, and gold tones.
