Establishing the Phylogenetic Relationship and Breeding the New Variety of Ficus awkeotsang.

According the test guideline of jelly fig, the new variety of jelly fig which exhibits the high yield and early ripening traits, has been bred and nominated as 'Miaoli No.2', (certificate number: A01443). 'Miaoli No.2' could be identified by amplifying a sequence specific 346bp band using the inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) primer-JSFR09. The 'Miaoli No.1' and 'Miaoli No.2' have been successfully authorized this year. In order to study the phylogenetic relationship of jelly fig in Taiwan, 51 lines were analyzed using 19 polymorphic primers among 100 primers screened. It showed the jelly fig was highly conserved with a similarity coefficient of 0.699-0.989, which could be classified into five groups by genetic cluster analysis. In order to demonstrate the cultivation of jelly fig, the manual of 「Cultivation and Management of Jelly-fig」 was edited and published (ISBN : 978-986-03-7325-7).
