THE American Chamber of Commerce Coral Sea in the last week has announced its new executive director, Selina Pahun.

Ms Pahun brings with her a wealth of experience spanning over a decade in Papua New Guinea’s donor development and private sectors.

Her extensive work in the donor development sector has involved the development of program governance mechanisms, effective program management, and successful project implementation.

She graduated from the Divine Word University in 2006 with a degree in Health Management and later moved onto a master’s degree in International Public Health from the University of Sydney in 2014.

A true feat from growing up in the small island province of Manus to being front line of AmCham Coral Sea.

Ms Pahun’s arrival signals a new era of fresh perspectives and innovative ideas for the Chamber.

With a profound dedication to AmCham’s mission, and a steadfast commitment to upholding the core values that have established AmCham Coral Sea as the premier Chamber in Papua New Guinea.

“I am honoured to be in this role, and I look forward to collaborating with our members and enabling value-add opportunities,” said Ms Pahun.

She said that she is excited about the opportunity to strengthen AmCham’s value proposition for its members, as the esteemed Chamber committed to serving as a platform for networking and collaboration between American businesses and local enterprises in PNG.

The AmCham Coral Sea advocates for and promotes business innovation and sustainable business development for American businesses and those in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands.

Ms Pahun’s appointment comes as inaugural executive director, Materua Tamarua departs the Chamber.

Materua served in the chamber from the date of its creation to March 1, 2024.
