Flava Flav is making his return to reality TV, only this time, he’ll be documenting his journey to obtain his high school diploma.

On Saturday (March 16), the Public Enemy member spoke with TMZ regarding his forthcoming plans, revealing that he’s now focusing on education rather than finding the love of his life. “Some more reality TV coming up for [me] but no dating shows! It’s not the dating show thing, man,” Flav told the outlet.

“I’m going back to high school to get my diploma! That’s what my show is going to be about. Flavor Flav goes back to high school to get his diploma and I’m getting it for real. Not a GED, bro. I want my diploma.”

While the iconic hypeman is decades removed from his time participating in the educational system, he insists that he’s prepared to do the necessary work to see his goal to graduate from high school come to fruition. “If I want that diploma, it’s just something that I ain’t got no choice but to adapt to,” Flav added.

The past few years have marked a resurgence in Flavor Flav’s public profile, as the veteran entertainer has found a new lease on life after announcing that he’s currently practicing sobriety. He reportedly halted his nicotine and alcohol usage sometime around 2020. In 2022, the 65-year-old shared that he was two years removed from quitting those aforementioned vices.

“Today is October 19,” the Flavor Of Love actor said on Instagram at the time. “And guess what? I am two years, no cigarettes. Two years, no alcohol. And you know what? I feel real good y’all, just to let you know. And I don’t care what nobody say, I look good y’all.”

Last year, the New York native donated his famous clock chain to Harvard University’s Hip-Hop archive while spending a day with fellow rap luminaries at the prestigious institution. “One of my basic philosophies is that any chance you get to spend time with a genius, a revolutionary, or both… take it!” he wrote in a Instagram post commemorating the occasion.

“Today I checked both of those boxes and was thrilled to spend the day with @lupefiasco and @flavorflavofficial talking about music and justice while we made the rounds at M.I.T and Harvard.”
