Leave it to Stephen Curry to have a perfect response for a report revealing how little he’ll make compared with his pre-tax salary.

The Warriors superstar seemingly addressed an ESPN report about how he’ll make just 44 percent of  the $34.7 million set aside for him next season in a tweet Tuesday.

Hours after ESPN’s Darren Rovell posted a breakdown of Curry’s salary situation, Steph hinted at why he’s OK with his tax situation…

Among those blessings are supreme basketball skills, a strong work ethic and a family that includes his wife, Ayesha, and daughters Riley and Ryan. Steph’s surely meant at least some of those blessings, if not all.

Still, it’s true that Curry will take home a significant amount less of his salary than the $201 million he signed for over a five-year deal. With California taxes higher than most states, especially on money earned from professional sports, Rovell reported that Curry will make 44.01 percent of his total salary next season…

It should be noted that Curry also earns endorsement money. Forbes estimated he earned $35 million over the past year from ventures like being a brand ambassador for Infiniti Motor Company.

Between that and the $15,263,905 which Curry will actually yield from his NBA salary, the Currys will be fine. However, the Rovell report and Curry’s apparent response were an exercise in why Curry loves California.
